Classify the charge first
A parking citation identifies a violation or unpaid parking event, often with an issuing authority or operator. A toll charge usually comes from a road or bridge operator or a linked toll account. Keep each notice and its supporting account record with the right case.
Use the right evidence
For a parking ticket, check the plate, location and issue time against the trip. For a toll, Turo's host guidance calls for toll-account documentation and, for manual invoices, details such as the date, time, location and plate or VIN. Do not substitute a spreadsheet for the underlying bill.
Do not mix deadlines
Turo maintains separate guidance for toll invoices and ticket reimbursement. The timeframes and exceptions differ by charge and market, so check the current guidance before submitting. A workflow that labels every late charge a toll can lead to the wrong invoice path.
Keep a single status per charge
Record whether the charge was found, reviewed, invoiced, paid or disputed. That simple status history helps prevent duplicate invoices when a second notice arrives or an agency account updates later.
